Knowing what you are talking about is always a good idea. May this be a warning to us all from the greatest show on television, The Office.

Michael Scott: I am going to donate to Afghanistanis with AIDS.

Jim Halpert: Oh, I think you mean the Aid to Afghanistan.

Michael Scott: No, I mean Afghanistanis with AIDS.

Phyllis: Afghani.

Michael Scott: What?

Phyllis: Afghani.

Michael Scott: That's a dog.

Pam: No, that's afghan.

Michael Scott: That's a shawl.

Dwight Schrute: Wait, canine AIDS?

Michael Scott: No, humans with AIDS.

Creed: Who has AIDS?

Jim Halpert: Guys, the Afghanistananis. (smirks)

Michael Scott: Hey, no...no. AIDS is not funny. Believe me, I've tried.

DEMOCRACY IN ACTION?

This story is just a bit disturbing. I wasn't sure if this article was about something that was happening in Washington, DC or in a church.

Either way, it's ugly.

BEN ARMENT: MARGINALLY RADICAL

I looooovvveee this post by my new friend BEN ARMENT. It rocks.

"Let me go out on a limb... I think most of us walk the line between passion and peacefulness. We play it too safe because we fear failure and criticism. I think most of us wake up every day with the goal of not looking bad or bringing unwelcomed attention to ourselves. But I'll make-up a rule here that I think is true... If we're not offending someone or risking personal embarrassment with our life endeavors, we're probably making very little impact. That's just how influence works... It comes with the price of personal unrest.

In almost every endeavor I go after, there is always a moment when I have tremendous regret. It's always that moment when I've gone too far to turn back, and there's absolutely no assurance of success. I start cursing my holy discontentment, my entrepreneurial nature, and I kick myself for being naive, calling it faith. And then God does something amazing, and I go do it all over again."

CHRISTIAN LICENSE PLATES

Apparently, Florida is considering issuing a Christian license(vanity) plate to those who want one.

This will certainly help in the current negative perception of Christians.

I'm also wondering what person lays around thinking this stuff up. I guess the Christian fish emblem and the Christian bumper sticker just weren't enough.

BANKSY: SUBVERSIVE ART

This is a photo of some of Banksy's art at the west bank wall.

Banksy is probably the most popular, yet most mysterious, urban street artist in the world - and he works at incredible extremes. He has become an internationally known as a subversive graffiti artist - yet manages to maintain a secret identity.

He is a counter-cultural prankster, but has art in major cosmopolitan galleries around the globe. Banksy’s work has sold to Hollywood celebrities for over a half-million dollars a piece, but much of his subvertising is freely (and illegally) drawn on public surfaces.

I love it.
